ANDADOR 20 (ALLEY 20) – LOS LICHIS - 2000
Los Lichis – M.Mathar, G. Monsiváis and J.L. Rojas- spent six days inhabiting a small cabin -designed by sculptor Aldo Chaparro-, named in memoriam of the apartment the lived and worked in in their early years in Mexico City. This action took place in the desert of García, Nuevo León, in northeastern Mexico. The aim was to produce music under extreme conditions and give a public performance at the end of the experience. An album was edited with part of the recorded improvisations.
This project was possible thanks to La Mesa (A. Chaparro, V. Fernandez, M. García) BF 15 Gallery (P. Raine).

Los Lichis Mexico

This peculiar group was founded by three visual artists: Manuel Mathar, Gerardo Monsiváis and José Luis Rojas in Mexico City 1996. They started as a multimedia art collective but soon moved to musical free improvisation. Since 2000, french musician Jean Baptiste Favory became the fourth member.
